Upcoming Events Overview

The CAWC’s S-Series is getting a makeover!

Due to high demand, our three-part educational series will be changing in 2010!

Formerly: In 2010: Delivery:
S3 Reflective Learning and Practice Portfolio (prerequisite) Online
S1 Level 1 – Knowledge Learning One day – interactive seminar
S2 Level 2 – Skills Learning Two days – skills workshops
New Level 3 – Attitude Learning One day – case-based seminar

Instead of a two-day event encompassing Level 1 and Level 2, Level 1 will be both a stand-alone event and offered alongside Level 2, and Level 2 will be expanded to two days. The expanded Level 2 will elaborate on the existing components and include two shorter workshops: one on foot care and footwear, and one on pressure, friction and shear management.

Another big change is that we offered Level 1 equivalence to anyone who attended the full Fundamentals of Wound Care Stream of the 2009 conference. We had attendance passes that attendees had stamped at the relevant sessions and submitted at the end of the conference. They are now eligible to attend Level 2.

Finally, we will introduce a third level. Level 3 will focus on attitude learning, with a case-based approach to making change happen. The first session will focus on pressure ulcer prevention, drawing on information gleaned from the Pressure Ulcer Awareness and Prevention (PUAP) Program.

The CAWC’s S-Series is changing; however, credits earned in the past will not be lost. For more information (including locations and dates), please stay tuned to our Web site.
