Public Info
The Canadian Association of Wound Care has a history of professional development. CAWC has been a leader in bringing evidence-based best practices to health professionals for more than 20 years.
Now, in 2010, CAWC is launching a public program for individuals and their families living with chronic wound conditions, such as those brought on by the complications of diabetes, low blood pressure and mobility issues.
The intention of CAWC is to bring the facts about wounds and their prevention and care to as wide an audience as possible. The following pages – we hope – will be informative and help develop a greater level of understanding of wound care among Canadians of all ages.
CAWC is also developing a public advocacy program that will engage individuals from across the country to take their issues (and possible solutions) around wound care and management to government at all three levels of government (federal / provincial-territorial / municipal).
