International responsibilities
The CAWC is dedicated to using the best available evidence to enhance wound management and prevention. In order to ensure that we are able to do this in Canada, we connect with the international wound care community, and participate in clinical practice education, research as well as supporting the efforts of Canadians who volunteer their expertise and knowledge to improve the care of people suffering from wounds.
As part of our responsibilities, the CAWC directly supports the efforts of the:
- North American Association of Wound Care
- Canadian Lymphedema Framework & the International Lymphedema Framework
- Wounds International & its first global conference scheduled for 2011
We are also members of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies
- 4th Congress to be held 2 to 7 September 2012 in Yokohama, Japan
